Belated Christmas pressie

The little woman has came up trumps with a late pressie. The book 'Branch Line to Padstow' which was one on my wish list. Not disappointed either...this has to be on your bookshelf if your interested in the North Cornwall line. It follows the same format as other books in this series. Plenty of nice photos with descriptive captions, track plans of stations along the line, snapshots of timetables and traffic.

It's nice when someone listens. Thank you.

Ian's Railway Stuff photographs

I've subscribed to an online photo Gallery service where I will be uploading photos of railway interest. At present there are two galleries. One of holiday snaps taken by my girlfriend of a steam special weekend at Bodmin General in 2007. She took some really nice shots. The other gallery contains black and white photographs of stations on the East Lincolnshire Railway taken by myself after closure during the 1970s (I think). Stations include Louth, Burgh-le-Marsh, Aby, and Willoughby.

Somewhere I also have a few colour slides again taken by myself of Louth Station. If I remember correctly before the roof was removed on the Goods Shed. Just cannot lay my hands on them for the moment. Once found I'll get them digitised and up on the site.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to anyone that might be interested in this little blog. I hope 2009 will bring success with your modeling interests as I am hoping it will with mine.

After struggling to find the time during 2008 to develop my ideas for Grogley, I am beginning to understand the task in hand. Also I feel that to embark on the Grogely project without first testing ideas and my capabilities on a smaller layout may well cause frustration later. So I have finally come to terms with the fact that Grogley Junction will have to be put on hold for a short while while I knock together my interpretation of how Boscarne may have looked in my a parallel universe.

Resolution:
By the end of 2009 to have track laid and operational with at least one loco and a dozen wagons. I am hopefully setting my goal low enough to be achievable taking into account cash flow and available time.

Onwards and upwards.
